COURSE DESCRIPTION
Monday to Friday (M-F) 3 hours and 30 minutes daily, 17 hours –30min weekly for 6 weeks
Students are required to complete 30 hours of supervised clinical training with nursing home residents at the designated site, schedule may vary.
The Nurse Aide Training Program (NATP) is a 125-hour course which consists of 95 hours of classroom and skills lab instruction and 30 hours of clinical training at a skilled nursing facility. The course consists of the following seven instructional units:
- INTRODUCTORY CURRICULUM
- BASIC NURSING SKILLS
- PERSONAL CARE SKILLS
- MENTAL HEALTH AND SOCIAL SERVICE NEEDS
- CARE OF COGNITIVELY IMPAIRED RESIDENTS
- BASIC RESTORATIVE SERVICES
- RESIDENTS RIGHTS
